Swedish massage is a gentle, flowing style of massage that supports relaxation, circulation and overall wellbeing. I offer Swedish massage in Totnes from my home practice in Follaton, working with long, rhythmic strokes that invite the body to soften and settle. Sessions are calm, grounding and tailored to how you are feeling on the day.
What Swedish massage is

Swedish massage uses smooth, flowing movements, gentle kneading and rhythmic pressure to support relaxation and ease tension held in the body.
It encourages circulation, supports the nervous system and creates a sense of lightness and spaciousness throughout the whole body.
This style of massage is often chosen when the body feels tired, overloaded or in need of rest rather than deep or targeted work.
When Swedish massage can be supportive
Swedish massage may be especially supportive if you are
• Feeling stressed, overwhelmed or mentally busy
• Carrying general tension rather than specific pain
• Experiencing fatigue or low energy
• Wanting to reconnect with your body in a gentle way
• Simply needing time to rest, breathe and receive
Pressure can always be adjusted, and the session is guided by comfort rather than intensity.

How sessions often feel
Swedish massage is often described as soothing, calming and deeply nourishing. The steady rhythm and flowing touch can help the nervous system settle, allowing the body to drop out of doing and into being.
Many people leave feeling lighter, calmer and more present, with a sense of ease that continues long after the session ends.
My approach to Swedish massage
Although Swedish massage is traditionally gentle, my approach is still attentive, intuitive and trauma informed. I work slowly and responsively, listening to your body as much as your words. Touch is never rushed or mechanical, and there is always space for the body to respond in its own time.
Sessions may draw on elements of my wider way of working, including stillness, holding and presence, while staying true to the flowing nature of Swedish massage.
Swedish massage in Totnes
I work from my home practice in Follaton, Totnes, offering a quiet, private and welcoming space to relax and receive. To respect each client’s time and experience, I ask that you arrive at the time of your appointment rather than early.

Each session includes time to undress and briefly check in before your massage, with space afterwards to re ground and dress at your own pace. An intake form is sent at the time of booking to maximise hands on massage time. For example, a 70 min appointment includes 60 mins of hands on massage.
I have been practising since 2015, and my work is reflected in over 145 five star reviews from clients who value care that feels safe, thoughtful and deeply human.
