Deep Tissue Massage in
Totnes, Devon

Deep tissue massage can be supportive when the body is holding long standing tension, tightness or stress that feels deeply embedded. I offer deep tissue massage in Totnes from my home practice in Follaton, working in a way that is slow, attentive and trauma informed. Each session is shaped around you, meeting your body where it is rather than forcing it to change.

What Deep Tissue massage is

Sabrina Hall -18_edited.jpg

Deep tissue massage works with the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, using slow, deliberate strokes, sustained pressure and careful pacing.

I work with forearms, hands and elbows when appropriate, gradually warming and softening the tissue rather than forcing it to change. Pressure is built over time and always guided by how your body responds.

My approach is unhurried and responsive, allowing space for the body to trust and release in its own rhythm. I pay close attention to breath, tone and subtle shifts, adjusting technique as we go.

This is not about pushing through pain or “fixing” the body. It is about listening carefully, working with what is present and supporting change through depth, patience and attuned touch.

Who deep tissue massage can support

Deep Tissue massage may be helpful if you are experiencing

• Ongoing tension in the neck, shoulders or back
• A feeling of tightness or bracing in the body
• Restricted movement or stiffness
• Headaches linked to muscular holding
• Physical symptoms connected to stress or overwhelm

• It's amazing too if you're an active person and goes to the gym or exercise

If you are unsure whether deep tissue massage is right for you, we can always adjust the pace and pressure during your session.

How sessions often feel

Clients often describe my deep tissue sessions as grounding, relieving and deeply settling. Pressure is guided by your comfort and your nervous system, not a fixed technique.

Many people leave feeling more spacious in their body, calmer in themselves and more connected, with changes continuing to unfold in the days that follow.

My approach to deep tissue massage

My work is trauma informed and nervous system aware, meaning I pay close attention to how your body responds throughout the session.

I work intuitively and respectfully, supporting both physical tension and emotional holding without needing you to explain or analyse anything.

Sessions may draw on stillness, holding and waiting, and are shaped through The Embodied Touch Method, my own massage modality that blends technique, presence and attuned touch.

Each session includes time to settle in, undress, and briefly check in before your massage, with space afterwards to re ground and dress.

An intake form is sent at the time of booking so we can maximise hands on massage time during your session. For example, a 70 min appointment includes 60 mins of hands on massage.

I have been practising since 2015, and my work is reflected in over 145 five star Google reviews from clients who value care that is both skilled and deeply human.

What happens when you come here

This is a spacious session. Two hours, with a ninety or sixty minute massage inside it depending on what you book.

You will have plenty of time to arrive and to let me know what is alive for you that day. Then you move to the table for your massage.

Afterwards I leave you for a while so you can emerge in your own time. To yawn, stretch, take a few breaths and have something to drink while your body wakes up properly. I come back in a few minutes before the end so we can have a little chat before you step back out into the day.
