How to Reconnect with Yourself in Small Daily Moments

The rain has been steady these past few days. From my therapy room window, I’ve watched it fall through the trees, each drop reminding me to pause.
Life moves quickly... Between work, family, and responsibilities, it’s easy to feel stretched thin, out of touch, and unsure how to reconnect with yourself.
But it doesn’t always take big changes. Sometimes, it’s the smallest pauses that bring us home again.
Why reconnecting with yourself matters
When we don’t stop, the body remembers.
Shoulders stay tight, breath becomes shallow, sleep feels restless. We get through the days, but we lose the spark that makes us feel alive.
Reconnecting with yourself is about creating space to notice what you need, to calm your nervous system, and to return to a sense of ease. And often, it begins with the simplest rituals.
Small daily moments that bring you back
For me, it looks like lighting a candle in the middle of the day or putting on the diffuser and breathing more deeply. It’s watering my plants, clearing away what has withered, or pausing to enjoy a quiet cup of tea.
It’s also laughter, playing Scrabble or Cluedo with my son and husband while the rain falls outside. And sometimes, it’s walking by the sea on East Portlemouth, chasing after my son in the sunshine, feeling joy in my whole body.
These are everyday moments, but they carry weight.
They whisper: you are allowed to slow down, you are allowed to rest, you are allowed to reconnect with yourself.
How I support women to reconnect
This is at the heart of my work. I support women who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or longing for more ease in their lives.
Sometimes that support looks like massage, releasing tension and inviting the body to relax.
Sometimes it’s coaching, a space to reflect, untangle, and find clarity again. And often, it’s nervous system practices that gently shift how you feel day to day, so you can live with more calm and more joy.
It’s not about forcing or fixing. It’s about softening, loosening what’s heavy, and remembering who you are underneath it all.
An invitation
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed or disconnected, this is your reminder that you don’t have to keep going the way things are. There are gentler ways forward.

Read it slowly, see if it stirs something in you.
The season is turning. Perhaps this is your moment to turn too.
